The Parker Crochet Newborn Hat
5:12:00 PMHi friends!
I was packing my baby boy to-be's diaper bag this weekend and realized that I didn't have a newborn hat to match his "coming home from the hospital" outfit - oops!
So I've named this hat after my son, Parker, being that it was made with just him in mind!
I could go out and buy one, but being that the closest store with baby clothes for sale is 20 minutes from my home and I am unlikely to find anything I like anyway - why wouldn't I just make one??
That's right - there is NO reason why not!
I wanted to be sure the design was simple and could match anything - but something with a tad bit more interest than my first Newborn Baby Beanie Pattern, which you can see HERE. That one is the perfect go-to but is very basic.
Also, I'd been holding onto this half a skein of grey marble Vanna's Choice yarn I had left over from another project for the longest time and it finally got used - so yay for stash busting!
Being that I just whipped this little guy up quick, fast, and in a hurry, I don't have a video tutorial for you all. Leave me a comment below if you'd like to see this on tape! (Kids: "on tape" is how us old fuddy-duddies refer to something being filmed. Because it wasn't always digital. It was on rolls of tape. Oh, nevermind.)
PATTERN:
Materials:
-Worsted weight yarn (I used about half a skein of Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in grey marble)
-Size H crochet hook
-Tapestry needle

That's it ya'll! You can always add a button or other embellishment to give this hat even more detail, but I love it just how it is - nice and simple! This would also be a great project to donate to hospital maternity wards - it works up quick and you could get many done in an evening!
