The Parker Crochet Baby Booties
11:23:00 AM(I'm from the south, where we say things like "folks" okay?)
After making the Parker Crochet Newborn Hat (pictured below and available HERE) I knew that it needed a matching pair of baby booties. I grabbed the other half of my skein of Vanna's Choice grey marble and got to work!
Similarly to the Parker Hat I wanted something simple in design with just a little bit of ribby detail. I didn't bother with any fancy color changes or embellishments here but I'm sure that a different colored sole or cuff or even some cute buttons would look great on these little booties!
Let's talk sizing - these are what I'm going to call a large newborn or 0-3 month size. And this is completely for selfish reasons. Being that I'm about 37 weeks pregnant at the moment, my doctor is watching the growth of my little peanut closely... and he's a big boy. Like well into the 90th percentile for size. So I am not confident that my babe would fit comfortably in the teeniest of newborn booties - so they are just a bit larger to be safe! (In other words, if you are looking for the perfect booties for your brand new little 6 lb. babe's newborn photo shoot at a week old, you may want to skip this one for now and come back to it when they're a couple of months old!)
All of that being said, let's get going on these adorable little booties!
