Betty's 20 Stitch Table Runner | Summer Kitchen Series
6:58:00 PMHi all!
Today I have the 6th and final installment of the Summer Kitchen Series using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton inspired by my Great Grandmother Betty!
In case you've missed any of the other five kitchen patterns find them here:
- Betty's Coasters
- Betty's Bumpy Scrubby Dishcloth
- Betty's Marbled Oven Mitt
- Betty's Harlequin Placemat
- Betty's Ruffled Trivet
And today's pattern, the 20 Stitch Table Runner! This project is so much fun because it is intricate and versatile while being fun and unique!
It is made up of 20 different crochet stitches, with a few rows of each type. If you remember THIS post (20 Most Eye-Catching Crochet Stitches) - I follow it to a T! If you click on over to that post you'll find individual photos of each stitch and links taking you to in-depth tutorials. However, below in my pattern I will spell out how to achieve each stitch in a more condensed manner. If any of my pattern is confusing to you, head on over to the 20 Most Eye-Catching Crochet Stitches post and look for the stitch that you're hung up on!
On another note, because this table runner is made up of so many different types of stitches, you do need to block it when you're done. Now because I'm a dope I missed photos of this step. Sorry guys. I'm human. Basically if you've never blocked something before you want to get it a little damp (water only) and fidget with it to get it nice and square. Now safety pin it down to a towel in a nice even, straight-edge square and let it dry over night. Voila! A blocked table runner.
I know my great grandmother would have loved this table runner, it's colorful and bright like she was with plenty of variety and surprises. I wish I could see this on her old oak dining table!
