Pancake Ornament | Christmas Traditions CAL

My favorite meal of the day is definitely breakfast.

You see, breakfast and I have always had a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship. That is until I met my fiance - he loves breakfast more than he loves most things in life. Like this guy has an unreal love thing going on with the first meal of the day.

So a while after we met, I learned about his breakfast affection. And let's just say the rest was history. He makes me breakfast every. single. day. I know what you're thinking - "does he have a brother?" and the answer, sadly, is no.

I began to love breakfast too and he began to get more adventurous with his morning makes. Lately he's tried eggs benedict and cinnamon roll pancakes. I'm a fan!

I crochet, he cooks. It's perfect for me!

So this pancake with syrup & butter ornament is a bit of an ode to him and a bit of an ode to our morning time together. For many families, mornings are rushed and forgotten about.

THE TRADITION: Have a meaningful breakfast with your family. By meaningful I mean put away the cell phones and iPads, turn off the TV and have a pancake together (even if its the microwavable kind). Get up an hour earlier and start your day together. Or if that really doesn't work for you, have breakfast for dinner (one of my family's favorite things)!

Then hang this ornament on your tree and remember to always try to start your day with those you love, even if it's a kiss on the cheek on your way out the door!
